Somehow with the recording of our last set on Friday, the corrupt file of the previous set has been repaired. The thing with the iKey is that you have to, after stopping the record, to push the record button for 3 seconds so that you can unplug the USB-drive. Somehow I missed that part last time, but did it this time. So the file´s now fixed and ready to be uploaded. More coming here. So you´ll get 2 mixes in all for this week! WOOT!
I´ve recently read on some blog (Create Digital Music), that last.fm is going to spend some royalities for trax that are played. How much that is still isn´t known, it will probably depend on the amount of traffic this generates. Well, so me being a fulfilled artist (has anybody noticed the joke in the last two words?!) I uploaded some tracks an so on. And I must say I am a bit confused and do not really understand how this thing works. First you have to upload your songs as an album… huh? Ok, well did that. Then your songs are on, and what next!? Well I suppose someone has to listen to them and tag them. That´s where you come in. So everybody (yes, that includes you of the million of people who read this blog :)) go listen to my songs on last.fm. There are only a few available by now. But I´ll put up more of them, as well as some pics and a bio. Who the fuck needs a bio, I want music! So if you already aren´t a member there, go here: last.fm and have fun!
UPDATE: I´ve just discovered how they would like to pay me:
- If your track is played on our free radio service you will accrue a 10% of the Share of Last.fm’s Net Revenue (see the definition of “Share” and “Net Revenue” in the terms and conditions) from the free radio service.
So hope they do make a lots of revenue back there at last.fm!

UPDATE: So here some explanations. The set was recorded last Friday. The d:qliq was half crowded and we were in a good mood. Could be that the download is slow, because of my provider. If it is, let me know and I´ll up it to another place. The download is 226 MB. The length is appr. 2h 40m. It´s a LAME encoded MP3, should work on every mp3-player. The materials used: Pioneer CDJ-200 and DJM-600 as provided by the d:qliq, a Mac with Rane Serato interface and software, KORG KP3 and Alesis Bitrman. Was recorded with an iKey plus to LaCie External HD.

…at the d:qliq, and we surely did show him how to dance of his feet. It was an excellent night. We started at about 2 in the morning after MadFred, Kuston Beater and V-One had already heated the stove to the max. We just had to pick it up and go completely mad! The sun went up and the people were still dancing. Thanks again to Manu and Fred for letting is play our charms on their wonderful place. I´m really, really tired, but it was a blast! Hope to find some pictures on the net to let you have a glimpse of the show.
The guys from the d:qliq ( www.dqliq.com ) released their second sampler to celebrate two years of d:qliq”-ing”. And as I have played there live last year, they´ve put one of my songs on their second sampler. The sampler or compilation contains 2 CDs. The first one is more riding on the indie-pony, where the second where I am on too, is more electro-electronica orientated with Airstrip1, fracture, My Awesome Mixtape, etc. Lot of really fine tunes. My “Booty Spanking” somehow sticks out from whole CD, because it´s the fastest and heaviest of the lot, it does feel a bit out of place. But it surely is a difficult task to put such disparate songs in a coherent playlist. Fred did a great job and I thank him for his gratious offer. Long life to the d:qliq!
After an awful lot of time the guys from Sajama Cut finally succeeded in releasing their ambitious remix album. In short they choose from almost every country on earth someone over MySpace to make them a remix. They gave me their song: “Idol Semen”. I made a funny danceable electro-remix with a lot of “porno”. Now finally on the 20th of may the album will finally be released in Indonesia. I´ll keep you informed about how things run after the official release.
